I assume it was with the HF and LF level matched. The link says measured with pink noise 500-3kHz, which means with the 500 version it's all HF horn, the 800 mostly HF horn, and they'd have to be padded quite a bit to be at only 101dB/4ft. I've seen SPL charts for the A7, they all show the HF/LF sections level matched.

With my controls set for best frequency response 50 to 10k I get minimum 101 db / watt. 802 / 811 / 416, 16 ohm.
As far as settings on the xovers, that can vary from xover to xover, Altec made changes along the way. The settings will also depend on your room and your system balance.
cool - I have 811, 511 and some Altec drivers laying around - maybe for fun i can mate a 511/806 combo with EV's Sentry IV
here's a graph I got a long time ago from Paul Klipsch of La Scala (and K-horn) vs a VOT
I'd wonder how a VOT would sound side by side in an A-B comparison with LA Scala?

The VOT sounds better on the low end than the LaScala. More extended. I like the Altec 802 and 511 combo better than the mid horn on the LaScala as well.
my K-horn has an "indistinct" region - not sure if a timing issue between the bass and midhorn - or something else. 511b makes a good midhorn in 3-way horn setfups. What are the coil and cap values on your VOT crossovers? - any attenuation?
