OK, its nice. Bet it helped over stock horn. What did it sound like to YOU, before and after such a treatment?? What you did, adds damping and mass loading, simultaneously.Next, LISTEN to four added bricks, on end, felt on part that touches, to the TOP PLATE of your SE amplifier's chassis, and also listen to a fifth brick, added to the top of the power transformer.
A-B that with a repeatable source like a CD player of high quality.
Does music-playback get "more focused and lower in distortion " ???
Bricks are sixty cents each at Lowes, etc etc. A three dollar mod !! :-)
Have fun listening to that, I did !!
Whatever that component is with a smooth stone on top of it, replace smooth stone with a sixty cent ( much heavier ) brick on end, and A-B, just listen to that, AFTER you do the amp's mass loading.
Then, place a second sixty cent brick BENEATH the same component, so two bricks are associated with it. Fun, fun, fun.

Did mass loaded phonostage with ancient hand-tool see pic but not going to mass load rest since the horn and cabinets about 300lbs each already. I most likely will build a stand for mid horns. The amps just temp and is sitting on layer of rubber, cork and ply + amps heavy about 40lbs also I just hate the brick thing sure it helps in your system but I feel its ugly, impractical, better ways exist and mostly unnecessary in my systems.
Hi Kloss,Mass loading of components is necessary , not just on "my" home system, but on any decent high efficiency system. That includes yours !!
Instead of writing my suggestion off, without even hearing it, spend five dollars and some time and LISTEN to what I suggested. Seven normal building bricks, sixty cents each.
THEN, tell me you can, or can not, live without out. Once heard, its impossible to go back. :-)
BTW, on a separate note, I found my Crossover needed 12 to 14 pounds of its OWN mass-loading, to lock in and sound its best, three "normal" building bricks.....see photo above.

Its not difficult to try, its reversible, and its inexpensive.

Have a full pallet of pavers right out audioroom door. But no way to set bricks on my network amps just not possible plus its not needed. My networks are in multiple parts spread out each part is isolated from others and sitting on damping materials. A brick would not fit. Same on amps. Brick mass loadings not for everyone or system. Plus so many better ways to mass load bricks being the least effective way.
Seems to me, you "make up your mind" before even trying something out experimentally !!! To quote you : "plus its not needed ".
Totally unlike what you presently "think", I find bricks are VERY helpful on ALL of my components, including my passive attenuator. I TRYED it, and LISTENED.
All I suggested is to try it - systematically, listen, and THEN make up your mind, based upon your direct listening experience.
Oh well, have a great day anyway.

Pretty sure this had more damping on it, though...
Could be what the modifier was aiming for.I picked them up in this coated but far dirtier and uglier condition than pictured, they do sound like the tar filled so for not much cash that is not so bad is it.

How do they sound?
Like a short A4 with bass and better imaging a bit on the dark side of neutral but Im used to t500amk2 or t900a on horns. I have listened to them for many hours now very non- fatiguing sound keeps you interested in the music. I have tried 4 amps the 45 SET has its merits but so did all the others so would say not picky on amplification.

I am a big fan of the Fostex bullet tweeters. I use a pair of t900a for the top end of my horn rig.
