Guys I have the Classic Audio T1.4 Speakers that came with the Mastech Generators- I am looking to upgrade the field Coil Generators and am wondering what the best match would be- Thinking of the LM Audio PR-4144 Tungar Field coil supply- Would this be a good match or what other would you recommend- thanks

John K has his Line Magnetic generators for sale at Audiogon. Talk to him. he will know.
My buddy Rich and I have found the Line Magnetic Tungar supplies to sound inexplicably though incomparably superior running our Cogent driver field coils at 13.8VDC. I say inexplicably because viewed on an oscilloscope, these supplies put out about 7V of hard triangle waves on a 14V supply, poor regulation for sure! The sound KILLs though, so we manage to just shut up and listen.
I have never heard any power supplies you mentioned but use Lambda Lp 531-fm 0-20 volt 5 amp power supplies with great satisfaction. I also have a pair of Lq-531-fm 0-20 volt 8amp power supplies that I will try in the near future. Got them on ebay for less than $200 a piece.
Perhaps some of the tech people here can suggest possible mods to this already excellent power supply.
Any other suggestions- I am thinking of trying the LM tungar power supply but a cost of around $4k for two it is alot of money to hope it will sound better- Any other thoughts would be appreciated- thks
Perhaps a search of Steve Schell or Richard Drysdale of Cogent fame can be of some help. Dave Slagle may be able to help since he did some work with the Lowther field coil driver.
