Hi all, first post here.
I have been wanting to get into DIY low power tube amps for a while but the speakers I own are all poor matches for such things. I have been offered a pair of Klipsch KG-4.5 speakers (95db @ 1w/1m) for $150 from a co-worker but I have to act fast. Is anyone familiar with these speakers? Would they be a good choice to be my resident shop speakers and is this a good price?
Thanks

Thanks for all the responses. It sounds like they could be just the ticket for my current restoration project (A Pioneer SM-G205) and about any amp I'm likely to build in the future. I will be going over to see them this weekend and will probably buy them unless there is some deal breaker damage.
P.S. I googled Bob Crites and was pleased to see that such a resource for the older Klipsch speakers was available. Thanks especially for that hint!

IF....in good condition....YES!FWIW.....My speakers are also rated 95db (E-V SP8C FR drivers in BR cabinets).
They work quite well with SE amplifiers in the 2wpc range and up.
NOT so well with SE amps below 2wpc, as they tend to run out of 'steam', so to speak.
Right now, with a 4.5wpc PCL86 SEUL amplifier, they have volume to spare.Steve

I own the KG 4.2 speakers. I like their full bodied but dynamic character, so I use them for mostly for rock music. Not the most transparent sounding speakers around, but they do nail the large dynamic swings and they never sound too bright. These are enjoyable speakers. They sound best when placed within a foot or two of the walls surrounding.$150 is very fair pricing for a pair in good condition. Bob Crites tweeter upgrade and rebuilt crossover can be part of your upgrade path, should you wish.

It has been a long time since I had/heard them - they are efficient and have good impact-
I last ran them off of a H.H.Scott 299B and was able to fill a rather large room quite well-at that point I listened mostly to Rock & Roll, and some Jazz - they worked well for a number of years - for the Price - I would probably buy them -
You really need to listen to them -
Happy Listening
