Finally got my 414-8B's back from GPA: new cones, voice coils and re-magnetized.
GPA did a nice job and the T/S parameters showed 100dB/1W/1M efficiency.
Added new front baffles to my test boxes and sprayed them in rubberized damping paint.
They turned out pretty good.

you might want to consider covering all that FG pink inside your speaker with a thick layer of poly fill otherwise you and your family are are going to be breathing fine glass shards. If perhaps you think I am making too much about this take a look at the regulations on sealing up a house which uses fiberglass insulation. No worries with a sealed cabinet but with an open bass reflex pumping all the time it's not a good arrangement. Nice woofer by the way congrats on the factory rebuild I'll bet it is better than new. Best regards Moray James.

A lot of people use RG to fill speakers but I have not read any reports of negative effects or noticed fibers coming out of the ports.
I got the 414's off Ebay and the drivers measured quite differently and the original aftermarket recone job was awful, so I never listened to them, just shipped them off to Bill at GPA.
All I can say is that it was money well spent once I finally got to listen to them.
