I have these new boxes to try for my 15" Tannoy HPD 385 drivers. In the pic you can see previous driver was mounted behind.
To mount on the face do I just tap out the T-nuts from the back and reverse them? Sorry if such a dumb question but I rather be safe than sorry.
Also if mounting on face do I need anything like a gasket. The drivers are currently in a Arden clone box and they mound on front, metal on wood, and sound great ... but look ugly/unfinished near condemned particleboard.

Erm.. 15's really do better with 200 litre boxes.
Which those clearly are not.. seeming as smallish ones for 12" DC's ..the 4 bolts being the giveaway :-)
From my experiences the rear mounting makes Small difference with DC's More in the fashion aspect than the reality.
But hey.. do whatever pleases.
kinda free 2c on leaving the T-nuts be. I just assume the T-nuts will fail-me and install them that way anyway, but just put a backing-ring (glued) behind the T-nuts. Seems I put a few screws from the backing-ring into the baffle, too, so the T-nuts are sandwiched and well, just can't move.
That leaves some sort of thickness issues, maybe/not resolvable with targeted-selected router-application.
FWIW.
Thanks guys...
Looks like the baffle can be removed, screws, and I don't think glue was used (a lot of screws).
Anyway that would allow me to do a Arden style baffle loosing no volume.
The big question is then what to use ... MDF, parcle board (arden), real wood ... I always wondered about that, all I've heard is the Prestige line ($$$) and my own arden which is parcel board and sounds great.

In meantime I will take backs off and mount behind.
Getting the 'T'nuts out may not be simple - if they were a Press-fit install-

Re: Getting T nuts out. The easy way to do that is to thread an appropriate sized machine screw into the T nut and tap the head of the machine screw with a hammer.
First, the hole in the baffle might not be quite big enough to clear the speaker basket, so the speaker might stand out from the baffle if mounted on the front.
Second, in my experience with Tannoy DC's, they seem to want to be flush mounted, rather than recessed or mounted in front, for the best sound.
Otherwise, I think it will work so long as there's enough clearance for the basket.
