hello i will build a Altec horn system
and i can buy 288-16 drivers but the dcr of the 2 are 11,4 and 12 Ohm
so it is not a matched pair
will this have a great influence on the loudness or sound quality ?
i will use them in 15 cell 1505 horns.
And what is a good bass system for this? i don't have bass drivers for it yet
but i was thinking about a 416 woofers.
maby in an Onken cabinet
or something else ?
And is there on the internet a example for a filter for such a system ?
i can not design it ic an solder and build cabinets but have no electrical skills to design it.

The difference will be about 0.23dB, inaudible.
((P1/P2)log)*10=dB difference.
Oke numbers!
thank you very much
that is not much of a difference indeed.
i think the room and placement will have a greater influence
As far as the DC resistance goes, they are within tolerances, so no problem. Any differences will not be audible.
Google: jean hiraga altec a5
thank you both
i am happy that the 0,6 dcr have not a great influence on loudness and sound difference.
Hiraga uses the 515 i think these are hard to find
for a normal price
but when i find these it was a very good advise indeed
the filters cabinets and all are documented that would great for me.
I am guessing shipping and VAT might make these prohiobited for you.... Not sure how the EU market is at finding and the availibilty of vintage Altec woofers are. Good luck in your project!
I wouldn't doubt he has some 515's, new, that he can sell you!
Check out BD-Designs, Bert has some interesting horn / bass designs and is near you.
thanks
i now i have already a BD design system the Orphean and it sounds great!
this altec project is just something i will try
and i like to have the original altec drivers then
