My Seismic Sub with original Hsu plate amp developed low frequency hum with/without input signal from Cyrus Brenneman Audio Cavalier Plus. Level of hum is same if the output level on the amp turned up. The power cord has two prongs and plugged into PS Audio Ultimate Outlet. Any suggestion or recommendation to fix or replace the amp will be greatly appreciated.

If nothing changed check the caps as mentioned. If some new gear or cord or the Ultimate outlet was introduced there is a small chance the polarity may be wring on one of them. Probably caps though.

Check with Hsu, it's probably the main filter caps.
A few years ago there was a rash of bad filter caps, computers, audio gear, etc., all were hit hard.
I have an older HSU sub with plate amp that a friend asked me to look at with same hum problem. I was going to pitch the plate amp.

After open the plate amp and found most of components and cables were bonded with RTV and would be difficult to work on it. Talked to Dr. Hsu and I was told the amp is not worth repairing and recommended the model 500A they've on sale for $299. Just installed the 500A and it work fine and sound great for $299. Hsu changed the amp crossover from 51 Hz to 75 Hz. Thanks for all the responses.

It is humming because it forgot the words!
But seriously, the HSU plate amp may have equalization tailored to that specific sub. If it is repairable, it may be a lot less hassle to do it an keep the specified EQ.

I have been using a used CROWN K2 for my SEISMICS and find them to like each other just fine.
Those toy amps (I had used the NHTs until, they, too, started doing some strange things) are fine to get started with but those speakers are capable of better performance with a better amplifier.
Consider it opportunity ...
