A friend of mine just purchased a Manley Stingray amp, which in triode mode provides about 20 watts per channel. He is now looking for a pair of speakers, for I think between $2000-$3000, that will work well mounted on a wall or shelf. That is all that is possible in the room he will be using. I think some monitors will work all right in that way, but it would be nice to find something well proven. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
David

That much power will drive just about anything out there. No, not a LST.
As for wall mounting, almost any speaker can be. I had a customer who had 4 AR 3ax's mounted and being driven by a pair of 50 watt McIntosh MC250s in an open concept home that was totally open. About 4,000 of main floor space and some 40' ceilings. I convinced him to upgrade to a pair of MC2300s but he never used the power so I downgraded him to a pair of MC2100s.
I used a 20 watt amp on my Bozaks that have 11 drivers in each box.

Used JBL 4425? Not "high" sensitivity but higher than many small monitors. Mids and highs are quite nice and coverage pattern adds to its utility. If higher efficiency is desired and a sub is possible, there are customization options (DJK is the expert).
Here is a past post of mine on this subject:

If you're shelf mounting, then look for a front ported monitor. Beyond that, try to avoid impedance dips. 20 Watts is a good amount of power, I wouldn't worry too much about sensitivity unless the room is large and/or the listener listens loudly.
