Need some advice on terminals to use for my latest crossover build.I want to run all the connecting wires underneath the board, leaving the components on top of the board. I thought of using binding posts for all the connecting points, but it becomes very expensive, as I will have 10 connection points.
Then I thought to use brass threaded rod.........I can just put a nut & washer on the bottom & on the top I could put a washer with a brass domed nut to give a better finished look.
What is the opinion of the conductivity of brass for these connections? I know copper would be better, but I have found that impossible to source.
I would normally use a terminal block from Mouser (538-38780-0110) which is zinc chromate plated screw terminals in a thermoplastic housing.
Any thoughts appreciated,
John

As far as conduction
Silver is best then Copper then Gold then Aluminum
Aluminum is a better conductor then Brass
I have done this, like it, and as I build most of my stuff,
will probably propagate this to the line level realm as well.
The key is that you can run one wire from the the input with
a ring tounge (eyelet) and another from the ourput and put
them in direct contact, so the material of the post, nuts,
and washers is less important as it it not conducting. I
use brass as it is non-inductive, and I'm sure there are
other, less important, concerns such as metal mass, that
may matter. This is a way to get a better contact and save
money.

I've found the solution.
Connect to input, bass, mid, treble on top. All wiring connects underneath.
Thanks for everyones input
You might try turret lugs,as used on vintage guitar amps.
Yes, these work great for point to point wiring on diy boards.

Thanks for the tip.
