who likes 'early' work of Perlman?
Maybe.

Passed on about a 'gazillion' used RCA records that would otherwise be in honored places in my collection, all because of 'Dynagroove'.
That said, this particular re-issue on CD, while NOT Hi-Rez was at least BMG re-mastered it using decent 26/96 gear and it sounds good even at 16/44.1 streaming.
Orchestra well recorded and the mic is likely NOT inside the violin, more like one would hear in a good, close seat in a decent hall.
Perlman is just enough of an incurable romantic, even in his 20's, to pull off a great performance of this work.
