Is there any improvement in SQ over the former SACD with the new SHM-SACD please? I don't have either yet. Thanks!
Follow Ups:
What I would love is if someone would remix the VV music so that it is not left, right, and no middle. I find it very irritating, and would actually much prefer it in mono.
I have not heard the Village Vanguard disc either from Analogue Productions or the Japanese SHM-SACD. I have heard its companion disc (same recording session) Waltz for Debbie on both in a head-to-head comparison and without question the SHM-SACD is clearly superior. Whether it is $30 superior is a matter of personal judgment, but I purchased the Japanese disc and will probably be purchasing the Village Vanguard in the same format.

Thanks all!
I have had some good n' not so good experience with CD-SHM.
I guess it's how "that" SHM sound grabs you sometimes.
It's hard to put your finger on it. Maybe a little compressed but very clear??? Clapton's Hideaway on SHM-CD for example. AJA too!
Anyway, I'm glad they got into SACD.
In this case, however, it looks like The Bill Evans Trio for SHM-SACD is on my list.
I have not Sunday at the Village Vanguard from AP. But based on others that I have both on AP SACD and SHM-SACD, the japanese has in every case sounded superior.
Sunday at the Village Vanguard SHM-SACD was transfered from japan dub tapes.
Waltz for Debbey SHM-SACD was transfered from analog to 24/192 in USA by Paul Stubblebine, and then to DSD in japan.
Both are absolute state-of-the-art!
