Hi,
>I'm looking for a Hammond step down. There is one toridal and one Ei type. The toroidal provides isolation, as they stated on the features<Not in my experience - toroids couple high frequecy hash and noise far more than an EI core transformer - unless they have made the toriodal in very special way.
>Why I need 100VZ VA power rating?<
Becuase it's far more than the player needs, therefore will not limit the player. A smaller transformer may well cause a loss of dynamics or other sonic problem.
> Why this can provide a line filter?<
Because, if it is a EI core, with the primary and secondard windings on separate bobbins, the high frequency response of such a transformer is poor - hence the high frequency noise & hash present on ALL wall supplies will not transfer to the player.

You know Schaffhausen?

Hi Allen,
I spend a few beautifull days on Munich a few years ago, but I do not know Schaffhausen.
Thanks a lot for your answers. I have the oportunity to get a 9000 or a 999, but, its seems that the 9000 is the best choice.
Best regards,
Beto
