They were free (3 of them), I've since paid for them to be serviced, and I may get another two.I am a member of 'Audiophiles on a Budget' the online group. ;-).
Yes, the posters promoting parametric Eq are right, but free is free, and it might just work okay.
Given that swarm subs drive the room so that the need for Eq is diminished I hope to get quite good bass.
And I also expect that having several eq'rs will allow me to eq each bass unit, if needed.
There are to be 3 stages of learning and building, all using four bass sources, approximately in an arc.
Stage 1 with 4 sphere enclosures which should get down to >30 Hz with room-gain.
Stage 2 with two DIY sealed subs using clam-shelled push-pull woofers, boxes built but more to do. Under the QUAD 63s. Using 1/3rd eqrs for extension & smoothness.
Be aware that Eq in the deep bass - for extension below the box frequency (Fb) can quickly chew up amplifier power. The DIY sealed subs using two drivers facing each other in push-pull should both have Fbs below 40Hz. I figure that the biggest one's Fb will be below 30Hz. Strong 20-25 Hz is the aim for Stage 2.
If I need to I can swap the Perreaux 6000C (380 wpc) from the QUADs, and use a Fostex300 (120WPC) for the QUADs. It's unconditionally stable, just like the Perreaux is.
Stage 3? when a pair of big transmission-line (TL) subs replace the last pair of spheres. I hope stage 3 will get us down to 16Hz - to do 64 ft pedal reeds justice.
Further down the track I will be looking at MiniDSP's range, but with a good kit ADC in front of them.

the minidsp unit that will do what you want is the 4x10 in a box (or the new 2x4hd)
I have done the swarm thing , you do need eq and delay and possibly polarity/output vol on all 3/4 subs or on 2 if you link 2 of the 4 subs
A swarm is not easy to set up , but it does whats on the tin , you can use dissimilar subs if you wish , but they should all have more or less the same capabilities and output
Yes, you do "fix" the room this way , but may not be satisfied .. in my case with full range speakers , the speakers with bass correction without the extra subs is more than good enough and sounds better as a stand alone than with the 4 subs AT LISTENING POsITION...
I listen to a lot of electronica , loud deep bass.. under 20hz .. and without the extra subs , I have managed to crack my ceiling...
Most multisub installations run the mains full range , they do not cross them over .. you do need to low pass the subs
I used my 4 subs initially in corners and then changed to midway all the side walls.

"I am a member of 'Audiophiles on a Budget' the online group. ;-)." Dig it. And so, DSP is a good way down the track.I have a tight budget.
My main listening preference is simply recorded 'stereo' either MCh or 2ch. Hence the QUAD 63s, good to excellent impulse response ....
I'm not enamoured of spaced omnis, unless it's 'Decca's tree' plus spots. Most others don't gel.
NOR do I much like close-miked-mono pan-potted mix-downs, compressed, Aphexedly Aurally Excited, eq'd, phased, delayed, phlanged, or what ever.
And electronica hardly at all.
That is, I prefer acoustic, aka 'classical' and especially choral, simply miked.
A system set up to work with such, seems IME to do fine with all other recordings. Revealingly so, ;~) but there it is.
A slope control - some day, soon - works fine with the really, steely BRIGHT ones.
Subs and xovers? The Quads will be filtered 1st order HP at 150Hz using high quality passive line-level PLL input filters inside the amps. The bass units will be fed by a PLL 1st order LP cascading with active 2bd order filters.
The analogue Eq only happens down below 150Hz.
I have a very limited income, and will learn as I go having done so for the last 40+ years.
As my posts mention, the slopes chosen are confirmed by other established builders like Duke at Audio Kynesis and TomServo.

I bought a DSpeaker 2.0 a while back. Parametric EQ, full function pre-amp, high quality DAC and bass management system in one small box.
One of the best investments I have made.
Gives just enough adjustment for me.
My only beef is it doesn't have enough RCA or balanced inputs, one of each but can't be used simultaneously.
Several types of inputs I probably won't use.
USB input
3 coax S/PDIF inputs
3 optical S/PDIF inputs
1 BAL XLR input
2 unBAL RCA inputs
Selectable.
Other stuff, too.
