...it is about being retired and how your listening does not resemble that which you anticipated when you were not retired.
Yes,we ALL thought that we would listen lots when the time came but the point of the thread is that we don't.
If you haven't retired then you haven't got a view yet. Sorry.

on a regular basis. Does the fact I consult, anywhere from 10-60 hours a week, make it inappropriate for me to opine in this thread? Thanks

"E Burres Stigano?"
I got one of those "surprise" retirements two years ago. ;-)
So I thought I'd be listening more too. But because I'm trying to wait until age 70 to start collecting social security and need some "spending money" in the meantime, I expanded what had been a "moonlighting" activity (piano accompanying) into something more time consuming. So now, instead of listening to more recorded music, I'm actually participating in my music more! It's a wonderful job, but a very unpredictable source of income! ;-)
In addition, my wife (who also wants to wait until age 70 before she starts collecting social security) does contract web development for various companies - so she's at home during the day and doesn't want the audio system blasting away while she's working. So I'm among those who (so far) are listening less than I did when I had a full time job.
