no one has ever (yes, ever!) heard a difference between two amplifiers with high input impedance, low output impedance, flat response, low distortion, and low noise."

Follow Ups:
In a real double-blind study, the test subject would listen to only one audio component under evaluation. It might be the actual component, it might be a "placebo". The test results are the collective satisfaction of the group that listened to the actual component relative to the collective satisfaction of the group that listen to the "placebo". (The placebo might be an earlier version of the product.)
Double-blind testing does NOT involve the test subject "comparing" two products that he/she cannot see. This is known as an "A/B" test.
..."All competently designed amplifiers not clipping sound the same."
The proverbial but nebulous term "properly"...... There was never any set of parameters specified that would qualify an audio component to such standard.
