....They've completely gone ultra high end and abandoned their entry to mid level products. Plus their new vintage retro mid-century modern shag carpet bell bottom grand dad look - or whatever you call it - looks pretty crappy to me. But hey, maybe it's just me not liking their newer stuff.

There is no "they", ARC, as in a privately owned company entity. There is only WOM.

All those hip young(ish) people with that stayed, senior citizen-looking McIntosh gear. It doesn't compute.OTOH I don't agree with AbeCollins about ARC stuff looking crappy. Even the new stuff preserves the laboratory instrument style that I've always enjoyed.
Mac vs. ARC ...
I love the music of Dmitri Shostakovich ...

ARC for me on looks. I am biased. I own an ARC preamp.
I like their earlier "laboratory instrument style", but not the current "retro" look.
I have to agree with Abe. The ARC gear (pictured in this thread) looks to me like a toaster oven.

Just a guess the new look has a lot to do with Charlie Randall. He is one of the owners of WOM. ARC is owned by WOM.
