Anyone have a go to supplier for remotes? I need one for a Kenwood DP-7010 cd player and so far the only one I have been able to find in a number of weeks of looking is ebay in Germany and its not cheap....thanks!
Follow Ups:
I needed a remote for my Pioneer Elite Receiver and found one with no problem on Amazon.
Dont bother with Musical Fidelity. I got sneered at.
Harmony 350 remote. Hook-up to your computer, simple software to program it. Just type in the model number of your Kenwood and it will probably pull it right up with most, if not all the functions of the original remote.
If it doesn't, try a model number from a Kenwood remote from the same era and you should be good.
This remote is easy to program your whole system. Lots of hard buttons and excellent IR signal feed. I used this to replace my Harmony One (which almost survived a cycle in the washing machine) and it's almost as good for a single room application.
:)
Find any Kenwood CDP remote, should work (if it works). Might be just as well to buy a new/used CDP with the remote...

Go to Goodwill and look for a Kenwood cd player remote about the same vintage as your cd player. Chances are, it will work fine for your model.
This supplier lists by remote control serial number rather than by the product that it relates to. However what you need may well be here. They appear to ship to the USA.
Never used by me so no recommendation of them is implied but it may get you what you need. NB; It's a long URL so I have both posted below as text and as a link.

I found this one:

I haven't purchased from them, so no endorsement implied here.
Since there aren't many controls on a CD player's remote, I'm wondering if there is a cheap programmable remote (you can get them at any big-box store) that has the requisite codes in its database. However, your player is 25 yrs old, so maybe not...
So the DVD remote codes sent by a remote, are the same for every DVD player made by the manufacturer for EVER.
The only different things are new novel things in a spcific player, but the basics stay the same. Like menu, play, next, slow search, fast search... those all stay the same by manufacturer.
Sony did start a second set of codes allowed for CD players.. But that was the only one I know of to have two sets of codes for the same type of device.
eBay is the only place to look. Maybe that Chinese site Alibaba?
Another type of solution is to buy a 'universal' remote. They usually have numbered entries for different company products. So your item should be also programmable in it. Typically all the remote codes for one type of product for one company are identical.
