Fallon revealed on last night's show that his good buddy Tom Cruise gifted him a complete analog system including a pair of Magico speakers.
Now that's a good buddy. And a nice plug for Magico speakers.
I'd love to find out about the rest of the system.
Follow Ups:
...and heard them say McIntosh, Magico, and Synergistic.
I'd like to hear Tom's system if that's what he has, because upfront I'm not sure that the combo of McIntosh and Magico would do it for me. But if Jimmy bought all that (and more) without auditioning or evaluation, then I hope he's happy with the results. I can't see ordering audio gear from a list someone has sent you.
Though I do admire the passion both seemed to have for audio and vinyl.
See ya. Dave
Yes, it would be of interest to learn more about each system.
This is certainly a step in the right direction for Audiophile(s), in general, as both Fallon and Cruise reaches the masses.
;^)

He must also be a Scientologist.
think Geffen is a Scientologist, though I may be wrong.
I'd rather know what system Cruise has.
...if you see the amazing film "Going Clear" you would know he has any sytstem he wants.

I did not know that, interesting.
Thanks
Could be, definitely shows Cruise is into the good stuff, but what has Tom moved up to, or on to?
I too would like to hear more about their systems.
Wouldn't it be fun to give your friends gifts like that?
Just a guess. They were both very good last night.

Are you saying Cruise is pals with Alon Wolf?
No. The church does everything for him.

There was no gift, Jimmy thanks Tom for sending him "a three page E-mail" with recommendations and "serial numbers of what to buy".
Jimmy said he "basically bought a house" having the system installed by the place of purchase.
So, is Cruise now a "fence" for stolen goods? How else would he have serial numbers for components he recommended to Fallon?
And yes, I understand Fallon may not really be into hi-end audio and meant to say model numbers. ;^)
It just struck me as funny.
"You can't know what the "best" is unless you have heard everything, and keep in mind that given individual tastes, there really isn't any such thing." HP
The plot thickens...
Another interest would be whom (dealer/retailer) JF dealt w/ on this advice from TC ?
Yes it would, Jimmy mentioned a first name but nothing more. I eagerly await Sue's follow up (if any) to her question for Fallon.
In the conversation between Tom and Jimmy, Jimmy says "I basically bought a house" obviously referring to the expenditure.
If you've seen the video, do you find the audience laughter genuine, just after "I basically bought a house" or did it seem forced or canned?
I thought the audience reaction was less than genuine, but that would not be abnormal with a studio audience. I can't help but wonder if an awkward moment was anticipated with that remark, and the guy that runs the sound track was ready for it.
I was doing about a dozen other things at the time so didn't catch the entire initial exchange. My ears perked up when I starting hearing audiophile speak coming from the TV. Because Fallon kept thanking Tom Cruise I thought perhaps the system was a gift. Sorry about that.
Any link to the clip .......
Regards..
fast forward 24:00
Tks .
I have no doubt Jimmy paid for his.

Gang,
He also mentioned synergistic power conditioner.
Would love to know what he has.

Aside from a rather good "lip sync" battle (and the fact that Cruise can look back on his career with some humor), I wasn't floored by that revelation, but it was good to see Fallon use the buzz phrases like a "a room just to listen to my vinyl."
I have noticed that whenever possible, Jimmy has an LP cover to promote whoever the featured artist is on the show (and when he doesn't, he at least has the artwork of the CD blown up to LP size).

...how can he not respond?
"...how can he not respond?"
lol I opened my twitter account back in 2009 and today is the second time I ever used it. Guess I'm not a big twitter fan. I was surprised to find the account still working.
