I noticed a few "heavy-duty" powerstrips on the shelves at Home Depot the other day. I don't know how they *sound*. The stouter looking ones were made by Tripplite, I believe.Or, DIY. You can easily find "hospital grade" outlets, blank boxes, and 12g wire online or at any electrical supply store.

DIY could easily end up costing you more money than you might expect. If I were you, I'd probably grab one of those heavy gauge used outlet strips on ebay and upgrade the receptacles later on at my convenience.If you do buy a pre-built one, try to find one with "series" internal wiring as in the Wiremold powerstrip recommended above. If you have trust in yourself, it might be possible to bypass the breaker or on/off switch in the AC path if the powerstrip you find has either of those things.
