Yes, Memorial Day is for the fallen, Veterans Day is for those of us who were blessed/lucky to survive combat. Just sayin'... Not trying to be picky, but they are two separate days for two similar groups of the military. Thanks, Dave
Thank you from the son of a deceased veteran (my father served in Da Nang).
Vbr,
Sam
You're welcome. God bless you & your family for what you've been through & fwiw, I especially grieve (yes, still) for any who served & paid the ultimate price in a war that was very unpopular amongst many. I lost a few friends as well & was hurt by the chilly & sometimes angry reception I & other survivors experienced upon coming home. I considered it my duty as a citizen to "answer the call" & served with honor as did every one I knew in VietNam. I'm not saying whether that war was justified or not. That, I guess is each individual's decision/opinion. Now I'll get off my pulpit as I'm sure I've gone on too long. Jus' my 2 pennies worth. Thanks for your reply, Dave W.
