Which was the point of my post.
the test you linked to was based upon constant use, not as your quote indicates.
I've never experienced computer memory failure. Not with 64k chips on an '81 IBM 5150 PC or anything following. I haven't kept old thumb drives in service because new, high capacity ones are so cheap!
