Your post got me to remembering those early Sunday morning breakfasts before church, where you KNEW you were going to miss the early football game (East Coast game, West Coast Time), but Mom tried (and succeeded often) to make up for it with an absolutely killer breakfast of stacks of golden brown home-made pancakes or waffles (I preferred waffles) smothered in maple syrup and butter, or generous amounts of bacon and eggs, usually "Farmer John" bacon and local eggs from a friend's folks who owned an egg ranch nearby. Toast (varied, rye and whole wheat, usually) lightly-to-moderately browned, and of course, with lots (and I mean LOTS) of butter.
The smells of each of these were absolutely overwhelming to a starving brat like me, and so they still evoke those early Sunday morning memories that stir both hunger and nostalgia.
Follow Ups:
had chicken tacos for breakfast, now to the steak. Delivered too, I live in stealth on the weekends. 4 sunny side up eggs and buttered toast awaits as well ;)
Enjoy brother.
Man, the pasta and sauce are gonna be flying at The Italian Villa, OLD OLD OLD school Italian, in a couple of hours. Red sauces heavy on paste that have simmered for hours.

and NO corkage fee. Crappy bread tho. $11.85 each + tip. Stupidly good for the $$. Dessert was a made from scratch Pineapple Upside Down cake with a caramel pecan sauce here at mi casa.

that would cost me $45 without the wine here. and probably not as good.
We can find good Italian here IF we go to fambly run places where they're from the old country.
FYI, wine was "free" as we brought it in. Check out the prices for Pastas and Entrees on the menu, stoopit cheap and they come with a big, fresh greens, salad with a dressing I'd drink from the bottle.
