Is this another groundhog day?
It's frustrating for us. The Trader's first iteration was released in July 2002 in response to complaints about Agon. Since that time, it's be upgraded with new features many times that were said to surely be the final nail in Agon's coffin. In February of 2012, we released the current version which was a major facelift and feature upgrade. If I thought that there was just one thing that would push it over the top, we'd do it.
The core problem is our instant gratification society. Personally, I've sold several items on the Trader. Some were sold fairly quickly and others took a few weeks. If I listed those on Agon, I'd likely would have gotten more offers more quickly, but I wasn't in any hurry and every item sold for my asking price.
I believe that one thing that drives Agon's advantage in listings is the dealers. More than a few dealers are using Agon as their online store which increases listings. More listings, more eyeballs.
If there was one thing that we could do, it would be to generate more listings. Money isn't an issue, but might be a problem if we were to have more transactions and had to get involved in disputes. Getting more dealers to use the Trader for selling their demos and used gear would be a good way to drive more listings and more eyeballs. It would also require a resource to drive that strategy.

And the way to increase the number of those eyeballs is advertising.
Where do you currently advertise? Stereophile, TAS, TapeHeads, Gearslutz, variou music forums, or none of the above?
Some people seem to be doing a pretty good job of advertising Agon HERE by continually starting new threads about it.
:)
... that if we started bashing the AA Trader over at the Audiogon forums, we might become famous enough to start seeing more sales action?
Hmmmmmmm....!
Not at all.
