Short of a investing in a killer headphone system, nothing resembling a traditional hifi system is going to satisfy his wife's desire to monitor and control the use of his time and money as she sees fit.If he's thinking about a new recreational vehicle it's for one of two reasons: He's caving in to her demands for him to spend more time with her while he's enjoying himself, or he's caving in to his desire to drive his new toy around alone while she stays at home.
Either way it's OK, I wish him all the best...

Well, if he gets a muscle car or Harley out of the deal, he's probably going to be out in the garage a lot- I doubt she'll be out there as much as in the house!!! She may still complain, but I think she'll spend more time in the house! LOL...
Personally, if D-wife was like this guy's wife, I would never have married her, much less even dated her! That was part of the process for the growth of our relationship- she actually LIKES music and HT. We met while I was playing bass guitar in her brother's band (doesn't get anymore intrusive to a home environment than LIVE music!).

Husbands and wives should meet in the bedroom - the less they know about each other, the better. Knowledge is for business relationships and schooltime.
D-wife and I are content, both being musicians... A special breed, perhaps? The things we DO argue about are trivial (conductors, orchestras, musicians in general, etc...), and the things we discuss (that matter) lead to solutions.
YMMV...
