I would for a lower priced item - $500 tops.
Other than that.....NO.
I'm just curious what others have done with zero feedback folks.

I'm willing to pay about 20% - 25% less than I would to a person with feedback and that's how it usually works out. No pictures will also cost you as will English as a second language. I consider all three the trifecta of potential purchases below market.
It's just supply and demand, if you scare away enough of the market there's very little market left...which is were I come in.
I have made a couple of purchases with 000% "feedbackers" As fantja stated, we all started out in the same place at one time. As long as I felt comfortable after talking to the seller on the phone I took a chance.
If I can drive to the seller it makes no difference to me if zero feedback. Otherwise, the less feedback, the more communication required before the purchase, including at least one phone call, minimum. I'll also search out their posts to get a sense of whether or not this person is trustworthy and reasonable. After careful evaluation of the seller I'll then decide whether or not to do business.
Zero feedback just means better vetting on my part.
You can't start with positive feedback ...you need to create it.
I'm a big believer in using the phone. In about a minute I can tell if I am comfortable with the seller or not.
My worst deal ever on Agon was with a seller with no negatives and 500+ positives.

..Same whenever a new shop opens. I never buy anything from a new business.
I always wait a few years till the business goes broke and then buy stuff at the closeout.

That is the same reason you gave us for buying second hand underwear at thrift stores for yourself. What a way to save money.

CL, E-Bay and AA Trader.
I hear they've become so buyer friendly that if someone says 'I changed my mind, I don't want this' they refund their money before they've even shipped back the item they bought.
As the seller you're just out of luck.

... the first time or two. If not, I probably won't buy.I would cover any COD charges but the seller must also be willing to cover return shipping charges (if applicable) if the item arrives damaged due to poor packaging or if it does not match the seller's description. Ebay purchases are sometimes covered by a "buyer protection" plan and in such cases I might be willing to buy from a zero feedback seller.

If one of the big two shipping companies delivers an item for you, do you think they will stick around for you to
a)open and unbox the item
b)inspect the item
c)hook it up to make sure it's not DOA
before they take your payment?
Not sure what fantasy shipping world you live in, but they usually drop the box on my doorstep, ring the bell, and are out of the neighborhood before I can even get to the door.

Last time I checked, UPS did COD delivery for an additional fee. The shipper is required to wait for you to answer your doorbell so that you can inspect and pay for the package. Knowing that the delivery guy is probably in a hurry to get going, I would never immediately refuse a package unless heavy damage to the box or it's contents was easily discernable. If you are not home when they come around, instructions will be provided for pickup at the nearest shipping center.
The best solution might be to arrange for COD pickup at the nearest shipping depot. There, you can usually inspect the contents for damage or misrepresentations at your leisure.
Mind you, I probably would not bother with COD unless the item costs over $500 and the seller has zero or questionable feedback ratings.

For buyers, if I can get a cashier's check and validate the funds, I will do it. For sellers, I probably just wouldn't do it unless it's a small ticket item of an inconsequntial amount. A phone conversation will go a long way with me in either instance.Oz
