We need advise. Found JBL speakers in custom-built cabinet from the 60's from our parents. We were going to throw them away but were told they may have value to a collector. How do we determine value...if any

These guys live and breathe JBL and could give you advice.
Great advice everyone, thanks. Realizing the passionate community for vintage audio. We don't have the knowledge/interest currently, but if these pieces would add to an enthusiasts collection...that would be a win/win.
Donate them to the Salvation Army and get a receipt so you can use it as a tax write off.
You could try a few things:
- Try posting this questions in the "Vintage" forum. Include a detatiled description, serial numbers, approximate age, etc...
- Try researching the item/price on ebay.
- Try selling them here in the classifieds.
Thanks for the advice. We are looking thru Ebay. Also trying to get some good pics. Have interest from New York and California, but shipping would be a problem.
Rule #1, never listen to sudz.
You might consider selling the speaker drivers & crossovers after removing them from the enclosure. Many times the cabinet is a liability. Easy to ship and sometimes the parts are worth more than the whole.
Rule# 2, don't listen to mr. Pickle.
Good one sputz. When did you get out of jail?
