Any one else getting popups on this site? Very annoying. I have a blocker but doesn't work here.

Yes, I do as well.

Never had a problem w pop ups here.... On different computers, different ISPs, different protection software....
Might be Firefox's pop-up blocker.... Firefox is the only thing I use common.
Then the ads go away.
How else do you think we can afford to keep this place going?

He's more annoying than the ads.
and add to the detraction of audio discussion.
Plus it's a cheap shot at a person's/member's expense.

Since i started this I have only had one small desire to post to one of his inane dribbles.. But i resisted.

Trust me, it's better than a Teleportation tweak and a week at the spa.

Dang!
Ghostery. It absolutely stops all tracking software and eliminates popups. You'd be amazed at how many trackers are being used here on AA. And Ghostery stops all of them, truly a *great* browser add-on. Blocking all those trackers results in much faster page displays...

but I seem to be missing a button/setting that blocks all trackers by default? It seems like After the program finds them, I have to manually choose to block each one?
Click on the little "gear" icon in the Ghostery window. Under AutoUpdate click on the Enable AutoUpdate checkbox. This will automatically add new trackers and block them...

I'll try that. Thanks
The pop ups go away when the member becomes a paying subscriber. It's a not so subtle way of drumming up much needed financial support for the site. I think it's a worthy thing to do.
I'm a paying member but still use a proxy server which takes care of that issue as well.

Later versions have Tracking Protection. Go to "Manage Add-ons" under TOOLS. Then, click onto TRACKING PROTECTION. Click onto "Get a Tracking Protection List" option.
I added Privacy Choice, Stop GOOGLE tracking, and TRUSTe. These get rid of most pop-ups on all sites. This site, YouTube, and some Yahoo site pop-ups.
It is a free program to blocks any and all trackers. And it has the smarts to block new trackers are they become available...
