I rarely get a chance to settle in during daylight. I prefer all the lights off except for my TT Ikea gooseneck work lamp. The picture makes the light seem brighter than it really is. I need to work on my photography skills. The experience seems more focused in the dark.

Lights off, always. After midnight, makes for some great listening as well!
When I set down to listen to SACDs or other high resolution music I turn out the lights and turn off the displays on my equipment so that the only light in my room is the "On" lamps from my SACD player, preamp and power amp. (see picture).
I listen in the dark, in the nude and with my glasses off. I set in the sweet spot so there is nothing between me and the music.
Music not only images better in the dark but it sounds so much smoother.
The only time I listen with the lights on is as background music when I am on the computer or doing housework.

You may want to do a double blind study, but I am not sure I would randomize it.
I wasn't really asking for that much information, but whatever floats your boat. It's still a free country the last time I checked.
I don't like to wear clothes or shoes anyway, I wear socks in the winter when my feet get cold.
The law makes me put on clothes when I go outside though, and I always put on clothes when company comes over but the rest of the time I'm the way God created me. I find it more comfortable.
I also don't like wearing jewelry, or even a watch, I don't like anything on my skin. But I do wear a watch when I go out so I know when the bus will be coming.
I would like to hear from people who normally wear clothes if music sounds better to them in the nude.

Listening with lights off ?. Does anyone when going to a Live event close eyes when listening or when a video/ blu-ray is playing do you close your eyes and only listen to the music ?
During a live event when it gets to a really good part, I close my eyes and let the music wash over me. It is nice to open them to see the performers.
I prefer music without pictures, all of my DVDs are movies.

Lights Off!
My system is in the basement so sunlight is not a problem. I'm in the trades and all day long I have to listen to boom boxes, crappy music, and loud noises.
When I sit in the chair, lights out, all led's on the gear are covered with black electrical tape, and great music playing it is like having my own private concert. The rest of the day washes away and I'm brought back to "life". I use a flash light when I swap out discs and a stemless wine glass to keep from tipping it over.

So bright sunlight (Northern exposure) all day. I have the artificial light behind me.
Awake i want light. Sleep i want it dark. The birds though, need a small light so they do not freak out with night terrors. More the cockatiel than the parakeets. One 7.5 watt is good enough for them to not freak out.
I keep a dim light on. Otherwise I'd knock over my wine glass.
I don't listen to music with my eyes so it doesn't matter to me. ;-)
I listen all of the time.

Hide it~ nothing looks better..
I find it hard to "get into it" in full daylight. I'm a night owl by nature anyways.

Usually my greatest time is around 3am to 4am on Sunday morning. The SUN is off, but I do have a 60 watt equivalent LED light keeping me company at that time. There's some kind of fluid creative introspective element in early morning listening. Very nice...
