God, am I sick and tired of "Google Journalism". Just punch in "most expensive", add the item of your choice, hit enter, and voila, you have some cutting-edge insight into our culture. Next week it's the $2,100 Kohler toilet seat. Nice work if you can get it, I guess.
Make it stop, please!!!
"our culture" which culture is that?
If you really want to "roll on the floor laughing your ass off" read the Amazon reviews!
Hilarious- just passed it on to Vinyl Asylum.

I have often wondered why Audioquest has the rediculous level of granularity in their product lines. Looking at their web site today I see 16 models of just speaker cable alone. Clearly good, better, best isn't sufficient enough to drive the mind into considerable deep thought.
I think many people carry on private conversations with themselves something like, "Wow, that's a lot of choices. Which one should I buy? Clearly I can't afford their top model, but I'm not some schlep that has to settle for the cheapest either. I can clearly step into the lineup a little bit can't I, but how far? Man, I also want something that looks cool also, so which one? Well I guess my budget can shoot for (fill in the blank)."
Certainly not you or me.

"Clearly I can't afford their top model, but I'm not some schlep that has to settle for the cheapest either..."
Reminds me of choosing caskets for my parents.
This clearly points out that we spend money according to what is important to us and to the value we percieve it brings us. For me, I see no value in wasting land for caskets and headstones when someone dies. Others require elaborate burial sites. I will never argue with anyone over this issue. I will joust a bit over cable prices however.

Spend your money on a decent power conditioner instead. You'll get much more benefit that way.
"I have no idea what this means, but it seems to suggest that, if I were to buy the Diamond cable, Wolf's beard actually would jump out of the TV and make me an omelet."
Well, I kind of agree with the author in principal. For me, any cable over a couple hundred bucks is ridiculous. But that's just MY value system. Others might routinely spend a couple grand on cables, but not me.
