FYI: I have Ken's Neuance shelf under my Aries/JMW/Shelter (the Neuance "attaches" to the rack shelf via 4 cones, pointed up). The shelf provided very nice improvements in my system, which is on a contrete floor.FWIW, about a year ago, I picked up a used Zoethecus rack and got more openness and sweetness over my prior Lovan rack. Other improvements as well, though I don't remember the specifics. Part of the difference might have been that I had more room between shelves to insert cones (ever the tweak) and part may have been that the Lovan had three legs while the Zoethecus had 4. More of an improvement than I expected. Like you, I have a First Sound preamp. I now have it on three DH Golden Cones, sitting on the company's squares, sitting on the Zoethecus rack.
Follow Ups:
for the heavy Krell cd player.I was dubious of its effectiveness under
such a heavy component.Lo'n'behold, it's making the elephant dance.
Zoethecus shelving themsevles were not bad
in terms of opening up the top end frequency
but, they just lacked in pace and blurred low end details.
One interesting tid-bit. I listened with a stethoscope to the free-standing motor noise being transmitted to the turntable when the table sat on the Zoethecus shelf vs. the Neuance sitting on the cones that pointed down into the Zoethecus shelf. Noticably less noise (*very* hard to hear anything at all) with the Neuance.

I know nothing of technical details.
