Razor & Tie is releasing ELP and Tarkus, with 5.1 remixes by Steven Wilson, August 14 (according to Amazon).
The R&T website says DVD-Audio, and the QQ boards (pages and pages of discussion, plus links to Wilson comments) seem to indicate the same thing). Sounds like this is as far as the surround remix of the catalogue goes.
We'll see. Lossless would be best, but I'll go for 'em one way or another, to hear what SW does - his Crimson mixes are killer, as are those of his own stuff.

good price - under $15 each. Now just have to count off the next seven days...
got email that mine just shipped. Thanks for the heads up on these titles.
I am happy w/ my MFSL ELP discs!
Trust me, these sound worlds better. Greg Lake's voice is front and center in the mix, and closely mic'd. Palmer's drums have more kick and authority. And Emerson sits in the rear with occasional swirls around you just like they did at the famous quadrophonic concerts in support of BSS.
Now, if some decent tapes of the Welcome Back My Friends live album could be found, we'd have ELP nirvana right here, right now!!

do you listen to ELP in 2-channel or Surround ( 5.1, 6.1 or 7.1) ?
And that's the beauty of these discs, there are "Advanced Resolution" tracks for stereo and multi-channel. Both sound glorious, but I'm a bit more of a fan of *good* multi-channel. And these certainly make the cut. So, you see, you can have your cake - and eat it, too!

I did not know that the discs were Stereo + Surround.
I was thinking, Surround only.

Yes, both albums sound great in multichannel. I happen to love Tank, and slightly bummed they lost the masters for it...oh well..rest is very nice!!
The Sony UK came out early September. The US Razor & Tie is set for 9/25. Theay appear to be the same, except for the price.
.
Burning Shed has mailed the pre-orders out today and now lists them as in stock.
The CD/DVDA sets have arrived on the East Coast of the US - and Burning Shed is already sold out of the eponymous first album.
Tarkus is being recalled and will be reissued as there is a song on one of the CDs that apparently has Gary Moore singing vocals and clearance wasn't obtained.
It all makes me happy I pre-order this stuff.
