This is a follow-up to my original review.
After blistering the company, here and in other venues, I received a very gracious communication from Jason in Oppo technical support, offering to go through my various problems item by item.
It was a classy thing to do, and I think it speaks volumes about Oppo's commitment to long-term customer relationships. I'm still switching back to Sony (despite their plow-horse status, they're the name to beat in compatibility with personal backups) but after my dialogue with Jason I think my original review was unfair.
Product Weakness: | Inflexible with personal media, despite firmware upgrade |

Have you linked this to the original thread?

...I confess that I don't know exactly what "linked this to the original thread" means?
here it is....a "link" to your original review. There was no "thread" which refers to a post and the replies to it. I had to search "all reviews" as Oppo does not show up under the "CD player/recorders" category in "reviews". It is under DVD players. Which I guess it should be.ET
It would be helpful, if it were practicable, to edit the original review and include a link to *this* page, wouldn't it? That's what I'm not sure how to do.
Just add a follow-up on that thread with the URL for your post (as I already did for you) or, simply, post it on that thread instead of starting a new one in a different forum. Only logical.
Kal
I checked one of my reviews and there is no way to edit it so when one looks up your player they can read both reviews.
