This cant help the format.
Follow Ups:
Well, I eats me words !
Sony puts out a DVD-Audio, sort of.
2CH LPCM - Shazaam !
...puts the dynamite in the audio fishpond for me.And I'd gladly trade that 6dB of limiting, too, for that extra 2khz.
Either way, it makes my nipples hard.
I love a value-added experience.
... with all that talk of your nipples hardening. :-)anyway, with regards to 48 vs 44.1 it depends on what sample rate the original master was at, and which one is closer to/integer multiple of either sample rate. (i regard sample rate conversion as inherently evil) :-)
... Afraid of the sample rate conversions, that is.Looking at what I ripped from the Sony DualDiscs, either the 44.1/16 CD was converted from 48/16 (DAT?), or the 48/16 DVD-V LPCM was converted from 44.1/16 Redbook.
Either way, it's bad news. Why would they just 'upsample' CD to 48 for the DVD side?
Well. I guess that's a silly question.
Meanwhile, I agree I should likely keep my cynicism in check and leave everyone to a solely auditory experience, versus audio-visual interpretation.
Michi:DVD-Video standards support only 48K or 96K FS, so they have to sample rate convert 44.1K material.
If they authored with DVD-Audio (shudder) they could provide native @ 44.1K.
Because only 30 people on earth care about hi-rez sound, be it 48/24, 96/24 or that useless 192/24.Yeah. that was cynicism.
I do care. 29 other people on earth do, too, and they all post on AA.
> > This cant help the format < <Ha! Maybe it will help. I do hope Sony reads those Amazon reviews!
The interesting thing about DualDisc is with the group its being marketed to its success or failure will be deterimined quite quickly.while I have no real interest in music/concert footage (unless its Hendrix, Zappa and the who with keith moon) I hope its a roaring success.
Now thats an optomists way of looking at it and a valid view at that!
