I bought an Auralic Vega DAC, not sure if I am suffering clicks and pops.
I like it, but what what could be the cause? I am subject to extreme ELF and the Lilly Waves are always and assault here, I have not found a cure for this, I've tried Orgonite to no avail.
Thanks for any help.

Update, the clock was the issue. Can not lock to exact with USB streaming DSD. I am really happy to have this issue sorted out.
Have you tried this...
You can try adjusting the power management for the USB HUB devices.
Go to:
Control panel
System
Device Manager
---> Universal Serial Bus Controllers
---> USB Root HUBS
Right Click on each to access the properties tab
Move over to the Power Management tab
Unclick the Allow this computer...
This has helped some users.

I plugged in 2 laptops, I switched one to the other when the DAC was on, then I was getting static, seemed like radio broadcasts but just when you get static.then I was getting clicks and pops throughout all the sources,
the only thing to remedy the situation was to leave the DAC playing,
I bought the DAC used, it had the static problem when I first bought it but then it went away, I recently switched the laptops and that was when it started.
sounds like static clicks, almost like a vinyl record. thankfully it is gone now after having the dac on for awhile, I tried rebooting, tried shutting it on and off, not sure but it seemed to have cured itself after playing for about an hour after I stopped fiddling around with it.
maybe it is gremlins, or something, very strange.

Install Latency Mon and see if your latencies are so high as to prevent audio streaming smoothly. It'll tell you. Do not start immediately after launch, wait 30s. I get 300uS or below. 5000 to 10000 uS peaks will definitely cause interruptions.
If Latency is too high. start by disabling wireless, then networks to see if normality is restored.
Increase buffers in your player and or your dac's control panel.
Clean up your wiring!
Thanks for your advice. It seemed like the network was being accessed without permission. Heavy loads on the processor for reasons I can only speculate at the moment. I was switching between a MacOSX and a Linux system when the issue started. It seems to be fine now.
Maybe the OCXO had to warm up?
not sure, because the clock warms up for exact mode,it has to get to a certain temperature for that, you could be right but it doesn't seem like it should behave like that.
it could be it. I just think this DAC is very delicate and sensitive.
it does sound great though. just pretty sensitive I gather.
How is the CLOCK set in your Vega? If it's not in AUTO mode, you might have to 'back it off' some. I've read of others having difficulty with the Vega in EXACT mode. Not sure if that's your problem but something to check for. Good luck.
I do have problems with USB and exact mode. Thanks.

It started last night with the USB, I switched the computers and it was still messed up,
This is currently happening on Toslink, but not AES, AES is fine. Very strange behavior, I know this DAC is delicate and very sensitive, maybe I have too many wires around here ...
The DAC settled down, no more static from toslink, this I gather has to do with my birds nest of wires everywhere ...I don't know what the cause is but there is power cables everywhere, live speaker wires and assorted 5v adapters with nothing plugged into them, I have to get my connections in order, I gather it is EMF. Either that or I am being electronically harassed by the c.i.a, ;$
