Hi all, I have just bought a Samsung KS8000 4K TV which I want to connect to my 2-channel stereo amp. I will probably be getting a used Bryston BDP1/BDA1 combo to send a signal to the amp. I have heard and like the Bryston kit but am concerned about lag creating problems with lip-sync when watching video. It appears Bryston BDP1 has USB input only but The BDA1 has optical input. The Samsung has only digital optical output.
I am considering an Oppo 103 but wonder if this is sensible because the Oppo upscales video and so does the Samsung TV so I will be paying for the feature twice. Perhaps I should pick up an inexpensive blu-ray player for when friends visit with their DVDs and CDs.

Hi Steve,
Due to much research and a time constraint I went ahead and ordered the Oppo 103D so your reply makes me feel happier about my decision.
I also have my entire CD collection on a hard drive in WAV format. Do you have any advice on how to get all the artwork loaded onto my Ipad ?
Regards
Charles
I have the 103D in a two channels system and it's a great machine. I bought it to use as a universal transport for my NAD M51 DAC and it far exceeded my expectations. I use it for Netflix and Pandora along with a 2TB hard drive that all of my CDs are ripped in FLAC on. It also has a great app for phones and tablets that lets you control it and see your music library along with cover art and metadata. The OPPO is a huge value for the money in my opinion...
