greetings: i have accumulated some cd box sets with bluray features but have never had a bluray player. am interested in finding an inexpensive way to play bluray on my stereo.
the cheap bluray players i have looked at do not have red/white rca stereo output jacks.
am looking for advice on 2 fronts:
1) cheap/basic blueray players with rca stereo outs
or
2) connector wires from modern bluray outs to rca stereo outs.
thanks for any help.

Don't you also need to hook up a screen to navigate the BluRay audio options?
damn! great point. never having played bluray i never even thought of this pitfall.
will look for a cheap player and see what happens.
thanks!

You can also get small cheap screens at the thrift stores.

thats good to know. what will the screen plug into then if my blueray is going into my amp with rcas?
i appreciate the info

The Blu-ray player will have an HDMI connection for the screen.
but if its not going to be a touch screen, id need a keyboard too?
sorry for my ignorance. somehow i thought this would be simpler :)

The navigation control is usually via the remote control that comes with the Blu-ray player. But you need the screen to see what you are doing. So you should have the control when you purchase the player. In some cases, subject to brand compatibility, a TV's remote may also control the player. There is amajor fly in the ointment though. As far as I can establish no Blu-ray players have been made with RCA analogue audio outputs since around the end of 2013. Furthermore I recall a thread earlier this year on one of AA forums which mentioned that the players with such outputs and manufactured in the last year of production had data to be sent to the analogue outputs converted to low resolution only with full Blu-ray Audio spec. being only available on the HDMI connection. I can't verify this but comments that I have found when looking around the web seem to support this possibility.

Please see the newly edited version of my last post above.
I have got most of my stereo equipment that I currently use at thrift stores, but the pickings have been fairly slim lately. However, do see a lot of Blueray players that are actually quite good. I don't remember the model, but I am using a very nice Sony player that I paid $20 for. You should check out the thrift stores in you area.

You might consider an inexpensive used Blu-Ray player such as this Samsung model with rca stereo analog output jacks.
