This was a very well built, great sounding player in its day. At $1000 new, I thought it was a little over priced compared to the ADS, when I sold both units when I worked at Audio Associates. However, its day was in the mid 80's. CD players got better since. Also, if this thing breaks, you SOL because you won't be able to get parts. I would hesitate at $50. $100 is to high IMO. For $30 or so, it would be fun to play around with!

I have the OMS-5 A II version. It's an extremely well-built player, handles CD-Rs well, and sounds very nice. I would describe it's sound as smooth, analog-like, with no harshness. Solid bass and airy highs, with an open 3-dimensional soundstage. Of course it's highly dependent on the CD you play on it. But well recorded and mastered CDs sound superb on it.
It's one of the better players I've heard, and sounds better than many of the new "audiophile" megabuck players I've heard.
If you buy it & don't like it, I'm sure you won't have trouble getting your money back out of it.
Personally, I'd jump on it.
Good luck & cheers,
Bobbo :-)
