In Reply to: RE: Pro SPDIF Distibution Amps vs. Audiophile Re-Clockers posted by Dynobot on March 06, 2012 at 07:05:23
A distribution amp is nothing more than a buffer usually. It will add a some jitter to the signals, but allow them to be extended and split.
Reclockers resample the data and use a new Master Clock. Jitter reduction is the purpose. Reclockers vary a lot in design and output jitter.

Hi Steve,
Yes I am aware that 'some' pro distribution amps just buffer and split the spdif signal. But some like the one I posted actually ReClocks the signal and the jitter is under 5nSp-p.
There are also a few other Pro Distribution amps that ReClock. I am particularly interested in comments about these types.
Here is another that ReClocks
I look forward to your input and hope that you will remain "Fair and Balanced"...unlike Fox News, in your replies concerning these products.

5nsec is nothing to write home about. Should be more like 50 psec.
You have a point there.
