I just read that the excellent pianist Denis Matsuev is a towering 6'6" tall -- are there any surprisingly huge musicians that you know of? I will mention the soprano Lise Davidson at 6'2" as another...

LISE.Definitely.
Hey, SE. Are you the same SE who was active here about 20 years ago? Then, for some reason you decided to quit. But, before doing so, you said that you decided to spend a lot of money on some cd collection of ultra modern 20th century modernist music. You said you did that, for equally weird reasons, one of which I recall was that it was going to be the very last classical music purchase you'd ever make. Or, something like that.
That you?
Hydrogen dioxide, cupric sulfate, ferroxidure, barium hexaferrite, αFe2O3/α-FeOOH

But, if it was, I was not telling the truth regarding last purchases, that's for sure!:-)
Besides, that would have been pretty much before the BIS series of Kalevi Aho works got going, so I was clearly joking and/or delusional. Beyond that, any work composed 20 years ago is now practically Baroque, so one simply must move on, yes?
Matsuev also has somewhat of a big girth too! ;-)
Played a pretty mean piano too, or so I am led to believe.

behind glass. Since this is a weird thread (!:-), I must admit that it reminded me of Rachmaninoff's stretch (Ashkenazy spoke about it in an article I once read, as he has smaller hands and mentioned the difficulty of playing Rachmaninoff's music for him...he does a great job despite the "limitation" IMO). Creepy dreams, folks!!!
