Superb, and from a most unexpected source.

Follow Ups:
Beats the Gergiev mentioned above by a country mile.
At least as a recording.
Not enough of a Mahlerite to judge performance.
So much Mahler from everyone!
My collection so far:
1st: Kubelik DGG
2nd: Bernstein/DGG
3rd: Mehta/LAPO Adler/HM
4th: Walter/NYPO
5th: Barbirolli/EMI
6th: Kubelik DGG
7th: Sinopoli/DGG (acquired taste!)
8th: Tennstedt/EMI
9th: Barbirolli/EMI Karajan DGG Live
10: Sanderling/Eterna
DLVDE: Reiner/RCA
Now that I'm no longer frightened of the "Barbican Sound," I'm thinking about investigating Davis' last LSO Sibelius cycle.
The individual mov'ts of all the symphonies are .49 (hi res) at Qobuz.
Davis's last Sibelius cycle (on LSO Live) doesn't hold a candle to his BSO set, some of which has been released on Pentatone Mch SACDs.
