I'm eagerly awaiting delivery of an Oyaide Black Mamba-Sigma V2 power cord. With enough experience of the Black Mamba V2 bulk power cable when terminated with Oyaide 004 Beryllium AC connectors, I've been wanting to try the unplated beryllium copper Oyaide AC connectors which are only available via the pre-built Oyaide Black Mamba-Sigma V2 power cord product.
The Black Mamba-Sigma V2 is Oyaide's audiophile-version of the "NEO created by OYAIDE Elec." Black Mamba-Alpha V2 designed for recording studio applications, terminated with stock Oyaide 029 unplated brass AC connectors. The Black Mamba V2 bulk power cable sounds excellent when terminated with Oyaide 004 Beryllium AC connectors, so the unplated beryllium copper AC connectors should be very interesting to evaluate vs. the platinum + palladium plated Oyaide 004s. First component I'll try it with is my iMac computer which is the first audio source within the signal chain of my computer audio configuration.

I am going to replace my home brew cords that feed my Acoustat servos. Currently using CyroMax III cable with Oyaide C/P-004 connectors.
Since I found my Cryomax III with Furutech ends was pretty much blown away by the original Pangea AC-14 -- even better terminated with the Furutechs -- I think you're in for a treat. Time for me to try these white fellas too.
would the black mamba be better than the oyaide tunami for a dac (w4s dac2 dsdse)?

IME, the Black Mamba V2 presents a more neutral sonic signature than the Tunami.
If you mean will the power cord fit through the hole in the aluminum stand and into the IEC inlet of the iMac, yes it does.

If possible...could you email me your thoughts....I actually asked one of the Apple 'Genius' employees saturday about switching pcs and he said that an aftermarket cord 'would not fit the opening'.....so much for the 'Genius' title..thanks..dave
To be clear, the thickness of the power cord does not allow the iMac screen to be pointed downwards, but one can use two different heights of rubber feet that are slightly taller at the back than at the front if needed.The Oyaide Black Mamba-Sigma V2 power cord when placed on my iMac computer performs equally as well (but not the same) from a subjective POV as any other audiophile power cord I've tried with my iMac, regardless of price, and substantially better than any other power cord at and below its moderate price point. In fact, I think the outstanding benefit of the Oyaide Black Mamba-Sigma V2 is its absolute neutrality and lack of tonal coloration, which makes it a very transparent sounding option for my particular computer audio application, to my ear.
The sonic signature of the Oyaide Black Mamba-Sigma V2 power cord falls smack-dab in the middle of wet vs. dry presentation, which makes it easier to successfully combine with various other power cords placed within a system signal chain. I think of it as an audio-purist option that should appeal to audiophiles who seek a power cord that imparts as little as possible to the signal source. I have not evaluated the Oyaide Black Mamba-Sigma V2 when placed on a high-current power amplifier, but since it only features a very thin copper foil shield with drain wire, the power cord should not affect dynamics as much as braided copper shields and/or perhaps thicker aluminum shields that tend to be detrimental when used for high-current power amplifier applications, IME.
BTW, I enjoy the Oyaide Black Mamba-Sigma V2 so much that I ordered 3 more meters of the bulk cable product from Japan to build two 1.5 meter DIY power cords with.

My essential impression of the Oyaide Black Mamba-Sigma V2 power cord is how well it helps to convey a high-resolution presentation of the leading edge in relationship to the timbrel/tonal characteristics of individual images within the soundstage. Neutrality, coherency, and detail are at the foremost, with nuanced dynamics and airiness being most notable from a bottom-line perspective. Front to back spatial cues within the soundstage are as good as I've heard from a power cord upgrade.
A sonic signature comparison with Furutech's humble FI-11(Cu) unplated copper AC connectors due to Oyaide's unplated beryllium copper Oyaide AC connectors can be said to be similar, but with a substantially more open and transparent sound quality. The bottom end is tight & tuneful, treble is pristine, and the midrange is uncolored. Stereo imaging placement is also stellar. I can't tell of any weaknesses from an audio purist POV. Priced at under $200 from a seller in Japan, this must be the real-deal crowed pleaser for those who seek high-performance timbrel information and dynamics without tonal affectations, as well as a more vivid presentation that does not sound too forward nor aggressive, to my ear. The unplated beryllium copper AC connectors are likely compatible with any make/model AC outlet, as well.
I think it's safe to say that the sonic signature of the 12 AWG Oyaide Black Mamba V2 bulk power cable falls somewhere in between the well-regarded 14 AWG and 10 AWG Acrolink power cables, but with notably better openness and nuance perhaps due to substantially less dielectric involvement and perhaps a better-optimized resonance control aspect of the Oyaide cable design.

I wonder how the bulk Mamba V2 compares to the EE fs 2.0 V2 with the former being stranded and greater cross section and the latter solid core with smaller cross section.
I've recently installed 2 spurs of the EE FS and now require 2 more to complete the system but now wondering which to choose. The Mamba is surprisingly less costly per metre.
The EE FS does lower the noise floor and is incredibly well balanced throughout.
OOI, the current spurs are on source and amps while the new spurs will be to each of my subs.

My experience of a solid core conductor for a power cord build has been unsatisfactory. I prefer a stranded conductor so I can't offer an opinion of the EE FS 2.0 V2. I have two more DIY Oyaide Black Mamba V2 power cords to build with different AC connectors so I'll have an even better idea of how good the bulk power cord is. So far, the performance of both the Sigma model and bulk power cable product is excellent, to my ear.
when doing a black mamba diy power cord, what do you do with the drain wire and copper sheath? are they attached to the ac connectors?

By default, the drain wire should be connected only to the ground prong of the AC plug, and left floated at the IEC connector. However, you can experiment by doing the opposite if you wish, since there is no hard rule in this matter. In my case, I choose to use the default method for the Oyaide Black Mamba V2 power cord without experimentation.
You addressed the drain wire, but how do you handle the copper sheath? Just leave it be? Thanks.I think understand. The ground is connected to the ground prong on both ends of the connectors, but the drain wire to only to one ground end of the connector, at the wall connector.

Yes, the ground conductor of the power cord is connected at both ends of the power cord, but the drain wire is only connected to the AC plug, not the IEC connector.
The purpose of the drain wire is to make contact with the copper foil shield along the entire length of the cable. The copper foil shield should be cut back to the end of the cable jacket at both ends so it is not exposed. The drain wire should also be cut back at the IEC connector end of the cable jacket so that it's not exposed. Only the drain wire at the AC plug end of the cable should be exposed in order to connect it to the ground slot of the AC plug.

BTW, I also plan to evaluate the Oyaide Black Mamba V2 bulk-length power cable when terminated with SOTA Furutech FI-50 Gold AC connectors available from VH Audio. The Furutech FI-50(G) is hands-down the best sounding AC connector design in my experience, so it should be a very revealing evaluation vs. the unplated beryllium copper Oyaide AC connector design...
Did you end up terminating the Black Mamba cable with the Furutech FI 50 connectors?
If so, what were the results?

As much as I enjoy the performance level of a DIY Acoustic Revive 8800 Triple-C bulk power cable terminated with Oyaide 079 Gold AC connectors, the sonic signature of the Oyaide Black Mamba-Sigma power cord is more transparent, along with the notion of a lowered noise floor (blacker background) when placed on my iMac computer for audio purposes. Readily apparent micro/macro dynamic energy characteristic and an uncolored tonality. Big thumbs-up.
I have had good success with the Acrolink 7N P4020II cable with Oyaide 079 and 004 connectors on all things digital. Picked up 10 meters from the rakuten site a few months ago on the cheap. Super high purity 'stress-free' copper. Little brother to the much more pricey 7N p4030ii. Had it cryo'd at Cryoparts in Mo. (cheap by the pound). Very smooth yet detailed. Be careful any cable on rakuten or ebay comes from Japon not a knock off from Chinay. :)

Interesting. I've found both the Oyaide 004 and the Oyaide 079 to provide poor synergy with the 14 AWG Acrolink 7N P4020iii bulk power cable. However, when the 14 AWG Acrolink 7N P4020iii is terminated with an Oyaide P-004 AC plug, and an Oyaide C-079 IEC connector, a very good tonal balance is achieved. I would expect a reverse configuration for the other two AC connectors might provide similar synergy with the 14 AWG Acrolink 7N P4020iii bulk power cable. Certainly worth a try, IMO.

I think it sounds great on my DAC.
The P-079 and C-004 was not quite as good, but still very acceptable.
I've got a P-079 plug and C-079 20 AMP connector I was going to use for an amp cable.
Have you ever tried to combine two of the 14 gauge 7N P4020ii for amp or power conditioner use?
I'm waiting on another P-004 currently from Japon.
I use a 14 gauge Acrolink 7N-P4020 III power cord with gold Wattgate evo AC connectors for a medium-current power amplifier in my computer workstation system and I like it for that application, and also use the power cord with various AC connectors for low-current gear elsewhere in both the computer workstation system and my main audio system. The 14 AWG power cord is not large enough gauge to be an optimum choice for a high-current power amplifier or as a power cord for a power line distributor/conditioner, but that does not mean it's inadvisable, since the clarity and nicely detailed treble characteristic of the Acrolink 7N-P4020 III is high-performance in nature, just not as large-scaled in terms of soundstage and imaging as a larger gauge power cord tends to provide. I you find it provides a strong bottom-end and satisfactory soundstage dimensions, there's no reason not to try it for those applications. A better option at this time is the 12 AWG Oyaide Black Mamba V2 bulk power cord at a similar, if not somewhat lower price point depending on the seller.
