While not as extreme as what you described, I'm certain that you mean the original MIT Terminator 3 speaker cable with a beige colored jacket (see image above), not the more common gray colored jacket. Its sonic signature was very warm and euphonic; what some folks might describe as "musical" or tube-like. It was a very enjoyable cable if used to add some musical warmth to a solid state audio system, as I recall.

What about the grey one?
The gray colored Terminator series is more neutral/less euphonic sounding than the early beige colored cables. The early Terminator cables were known for being what some might consider pleasant sounding rather than a more transparent sonic signature.
