It's not specifically the back and forth between you and he, it is his original post of that thread, which was demeaning and disrespectful of the posters here with his overall attitude, and with some of his posts.
See:

Not only do we have a no DBT rule, there is a "spirit of the forum" rule, which he has definitely been trampling on.
While he has not outright denied cable sonic differences, his inference is that they don't make that much difference, and in a recent instance, anyone who pays more than 10% of the cost of the rest of their system is being foolish. This is not the first time he has posted in this vein, and he has been warned before.
Unfortunately, I can not delete just his original post, the whole thread goes away.
He has been warned twice now, one more and he's gone.

Jon-
what is the DBT rule?
See link:
In this asylum, a large number of 'hecklers' who would repeatedly post about "No differences possible" or "Wire is wire" and usually bring up Double Blind Testing as a way to claim they are right and can 'prove' it.
Since the folks arguing this never had anything useful to say, and were constantly creating fights.. The concept was banned.. As a way to lessen the problem of 'denyers.
Since the issues around DBT and 'wire is wire' are a constant thorn in the side for this asylum, the overseers are particularly sensitive to anyone who even innocently might accidentally seem to be arguing any of the problematic views.
The cable as component idea has grown stronger, and a lot of the credit goes to the Cable Asylum for championing it.
So overtime posts have been removed which even slightly have an anti cable as component stance.
Sadly that strict stance may seem to limit discussions, however, anyone, including myself, remembers the problems unfettered arguments created.
So I have no problem with removed posts.. Even my own threads.
I SAID NT!!!
Sure, it limits discussions and debates...
...no one has ever changed their opinion from a DBT debate.
Agreed-
certainly testing has its place. Believe me, I love it when a lesser priced cable or cord, outperforms a higher priced model. Although it does not happen often, it does indeed occur.
sidebar: whom remembers the "new" coke vs. classic coke taste test from the 80's ? Yeah, it is similar.
those discussions and debates are mostly futile and over polarizing. many times it leads to nastiness.

nt

Thank you for the explanation
