My preamp has a set of XLR outputs, but none of my other equipment have balanced connection provisions. Is there any advantage to using balanced-to-unbalanced (XLR to RCA) cables to connect to my power amplifier? I've built all my analog IC's using Mogami Neglex and Canare RCA's and am satisfied with the results. I have no hum or EMI problems.
Follow Ups:
No advantage whatsoever as far as the signal is concerned. It will become an unbalanced signal.
There is a mechanical advantage in that XLR's tend to make better contact and have a better fit. But that's about it.

Thanks Dan- that's what I thought too.
