Just wondering if anyone has any experience with Cabledyne's Silver power cable. What's the good or bad when it comes to this cables sonics and are there any others in its price range that are worth checking out, and are made of silver.
Any info would be appreciated.

I have used Cabledyne Power cords for a few years and find them to be an excellent value and with great sonics. I use the Reference PC on my DAC, Preamp and the Premier PC on my monoblock amps. The cords add focus without any brightness. No dark veiling that some of the expensive boutique cords I have auditioned.
These cords use the excellent Furutech FI-11 plugs. The Gold ones sound a bit warmer and the Rhodiums are more detailed. I notice they also offer the Wattgate EVO brass plugs now for $50 bucks less making the cord a real deal.
The cord is durable and well made and a refreshing departure from the plastic braided cords out there. Originally I made most of my PCs DIY but if you add up the cost for the materials that Cabledyne uses I cannot come close at their prices. I asked Ed how they can sell for so cheap and he tells me they buy the materials at contract pricing plus they sell direct. With a 40 day trial it is a no brainer, IMO.
Thanks for the help guys.
From what I've read so far, I like what I hear. Detail without being bright and thin sounding is a big one for me because any sort of siblance I find distracting.
Firm, well defined bass is also a plus, and a PC that has "air" and that 3D like effect is what I'd like. The 40 day trail seals the deal. Cheers guys.
Nothing wrong at all w/ wanting to extract all of the details (musically).
Keep us posted as you decide to buy this PC.
Hello. I have a Cabledyne Reference Premier Silver Power Cable (1.5m) with Furutech FI-11-N1 Gold connectors. It is a 10 ga cable, which they don't sell any more. I believe they sell an otherwise identical 11 ga cable.
I liked it and currently use it on a DAC. I did not find it bright or tipped-up. It sounded like other solid core PC's I have heard. I found it detailed, transparent, smooth and nicely balanced. It has tuneful bass with good weight.
This account is from memory, as the cord has been in use for a fairly long time. Coincidentally though, I was going to compare it to some other cords. When I am done, I could provide a more recent account. However, this may take a while. I leave a cord in for a few days or more before changing to another.
gradEHoser-
what other gear, including cables/cords, is in your system?
Ok, well I've got Totem Sttafs for speakers, Unico Primo tube integrated,
the 2 cdplayers-Jungson/SimAudio which I'd like to try the Cabledyne Silver power cable on. Cabling is all BIS audio Vivat I/C and speaker cable, and the one power cable I have running the integrated is a Gutwire C clef which works well.
Hope this helps.
Very nice. Which Simaudio CDP do you own?
By possibly using a different PC what are you attempting to accomplish?
I have the SimAudio Moon 260d with the built in Dac. The power cable is more for the Jungson tube player because it plays SACD which the Sim does not. Just looking for that last bit of detail up top and lower bass definition. Is that asking too much from a power cord? Maybe, but I thought I'd look for some opinion here if anyone tryed the Cabledyne Silver cord. Cheers
I'd never even heard of Cabledyne before your post, but after looking at their web page, I'm impressed -- devoid of BS and Twilight Zone marketing claims. My experience with power cords (and this is just my experience, so take it FWIW) is that the main improvements come from the materials and the construction quality/technique. The particular geometry used and any "add-ins" (ie: Shunyata's FeSi, Synergistics Quantum Tunneling, etc) can make a difference, but they are incremental over the initial parameters. Cabledyne has a lot of the stuff that have been incorporated into power cables I've had the best success with (single crystal unplated wire, foamed dielectric, solderless connections, etc).
Sorry I can't relay any direct experience, but if I was in the market for a power cord, I'd quite likely order one of theirs and give it a try. Hard to lose with full return privileges, and I don't think the improvements you're looking for are beyond the reach of a power cord, depending of course on the degree of improvement you're looking for.
What make/model audio component might you plan to use the power cord with?
Hi,
I'd like to try it with my Jungson tube cdplayer and or the SimAudio Moon260D that I have. I'm already running a Gutwire C clef to my integrated so I though a little shot of silver might work with one of the disc spinners. Cheers
What make/model digital cable are you using with your CD transports?
No transport used, these are both just all in one box cdplayers, no separates.
What make/model line-level interconnects for the CDP are in use, at his time?
The interconnects are BIS Audio Vivats.
So do you like Cabledyne cables or....
I have no experience of the Cabledyne power cord, but I'm sure it will impart a solid core silver sonic signature that may be to your liking. It might be a good thing if you opt to evaluate the power cord, with right of return, of course.
