I have both NEP-3001 and NEP-3002.
After some experimenting with several plugs I have on hand, I discovered that 3002, equipped with Oyaide 079 plugs, sounds great on my DAC - better than any other cord I have (about 12 altogether, commercial and DIY).
What I also know is that:
- Neither 3001 nor 3002 sound good with Neotech P303/P313 gold-plated plugs (thick, rolled off on the top);
- 3001 sounds better to me than 3002, when equipped with the same plugs (not 079);
- I would prefer to use something other than 079 with 3001, because fitting them on such a thick cable is a pain, and requires cutting off the rubber ring at the base of the plug.
With that being said - could you recommend something, perhaps from Furutech (which has large openings at the base), that would sound good with Neotech 3001, on par or better than Oyaide 079?
TIA
Follow Ups:
I've tried a number of different AC Plugs with the Neotech NEP-3001 PC that I use to power my McCormack DNA-225 Power Amp. I have run the Neotech plugs you mention in your post, the Oyaide P/C-079, P/C-004 and the P/C-037.
I know this Neotech 3001 PC is a bear to work with because of the stiffness of the relatively small number of large strands in the conductors. But in my experience, the Oyaide P/C-037 is by far the best in my system. It does not stage or image like the Oyaide 079 or 004, but it adds some body to the midrange that no other plugs I've tried can match.

Cardas has a clamshell type that I'm using with the Neotech to power my Vandersteen speakers. An upgraded sound is the result.
The Furutech FI-11M-N1(G) AC plug with Furutech FI-11-N1(G) IEC connector should be a good option for your wants/needs.
You must have one of the very best monikers I've seen of late in Audio Asylum.
If you like Beef and Guinness Pie, you might enjoy my recipe for Lamb and Guinness Stew posted in Cable Asylum circa 2004.
See link:
To tell the truth, the moniker was adapted from Beef Guinness Oyster Pie, replacing one word to give it a bit of a subtle second meaning :-).
I'll have to try that recipe sometime, will make sure to report back when I do.
Regarding Furutech recommendation - I decided to go with Rhodium plugs. I realize Neotech gold-plated (that I didn't like on the cord) is not the same thing as Furutech, but want to try a flavor that's guaranteed to be different.
On related note - Neotech plugs are probably THE best, with regards to how easy they are to work with, and how large are all the openings you have to stick anything into.
