My audio club is building power cables as a project. Due to limited funds, I can't fill all my needs at once. My ARC preamp (Ref3) and amplifiers (VM220) take 20 amp cords. Which do you suggest I re-cable first? The preamp runs from a power conditioner and the amps go directly to the wall. I did a search, but found nothing.
Follow Ups:
Upgrade your source cable first, especially if it's digital.
Having been through this question with the newest system, I would upgrade the amplifier first, upgrade fuses of CD player, amp, and preamp and then upgrade the other power cords. Also consider an audio grade wall socket sooner versus latter. Also if it is a group build consider having the several cables cryogenically treated at Cryogenics International, Scottsdale Az.
What raw material were you considering?

We are using OFC6N copper cable with Acrolink connectors. I have already upgraded the cables to my CD player. My amps and preamp take a 20 amp connector, believe it or not, so that is why I was trying to decide between those two. Thanks to everyone who replied.
CD/DVD/SACD spinner 1st. Then, the ARC.
...CD player first if you have one.
I'd suggest the power amp, from the experience I've had making dozens of prototypes.
Thanks. I am leaning that way.

No doubt it will.
