Anyone using their top line interconnects/speaker cables?
Follow Ups:
I got the Wireworld stuff in today.... I unpacked the Golden version....heavy, made well, but not evident that it is worth 3000 dollars. At first, the bass seemed very rolled off, but it came back within 10 minutes or so. There was very little difference between my cables and the Wireword....EXCEPT for the incredible ease it seemed to convey. That's the word...ease....capable ease. It sounded completely up to the task. My wife's car is very good, but when I take out mine, its a whole different thing....capable...at ease....and so it is with the Wireworld. At first this ease..can almost be dismissed, but as you listen, it becomes more obvious and right. The Wireworld and my cables sound nearly identical...Bass, Treble, air around the instruments....but there is that special magic ...that ease that is so captivating. I'm not sure if I'll actually buy these cables, ...it depends if I dream about them tonight.
Very nice -Sgreen.
I just ordered a wireworld XLR interconnect from CableCo. I'll listen to judge if an update to my system is warranted.
Keep me posted -SGreen.
I use a Wireworld Series 7 Platinum USB.. I like it a lot
Very nice! cable ErikM.
still waiting for my Wireworld cable....its been a week...I guess they are made to order....
I believe WW does operate in a made-to-order manner. Unlike Audioquest, Cardas & Kimber Kable.
perhaps they don't sell enough to keep an inventory. I was notified that my trial Wireworld cables are in the mail. They sent me 1 meter pairs of XLR Platinum, Gold and regular Eclipse. I'll post when I get them. I'll try them between the silver disc/preamp, turntable/preamp, and Premp to headphone amp. I can't do an evaluation from preamp to amp, since the amp is between the 2 speakers about 18 feet away. We'll listen and report.
looking forward to your report.
Hi and good luck !
i do not want to add confusion but i found this (see link) from the Belden tech department
The statement could be valid in general
I am actually trying a pair of AES/EBU cables for line level analog
I am quite curious.
Kind regards,
bg
Hi i still remember the very interesting " Wireworld Interconnect Comparator "
Citing Ken Kessler ...
"Every reviewer who writes about wire should have a Wireworld Interconnect Comparator, so should every retailer who sells cables... I've never experienced an easier, less stressful way to audition cables. And the findings are terrifying... My worst fears were confirmed about certain over-hyped wires..."if this is true, like i believe, it speaks highly of Wireworld very high know-how
and i also understand why it has practically disappeared from the market.
It would have exposed too easily bad cables.
Better to rely on some bat-ears reviewer to select the best cables.
However i found very important that it showed very clearly that cables do have a sound.
Kind regards,
bg

I do have a WW "test" CD, if you will. It has several other cables that were tested against a WW cable- pretty cool. This is the only one of its kind that I own. I own many, many, other test/demo CD/SACD(s).
Hi ! do you mean this one in the picture maybe ?
Taken from the HomeTheater HIFI site " This disc features a live jazz vocal performance by Jackie Ryan, and procedes to play it first through a "direct connection," then through six progressively more expensive models of WireWorld cabling ".
And then the Mr. Salz's statement: " It is unfortunate that the Gold Eclipse 5 was not finished in time for it to be included on the Cable Comparator Disc, because it would have produced a track that matched the direct track almost perfectly "
A great achievement indeed.
Given that cables do alter the original sound to have a reliable and easy method/tool to evaluate this is very important i think.
Instead of having to wait and replace cables any time.
Thanks again.
Kind regards,
bg

Yes bg, that is the one. To my knowledge WW has not made a 2nd edition?
I think the company could have made several of these discs.
Hi and thanks again
I would be willing to try a cheap WW pair but i am afraid the very transparent ones are the TOTL.
I have recently switched to XLRs equipment especially with cables and home electrical issues in mind.
I read that it is easier to find good and reasonably priced XLRs than RCAs.
After learning that the electrons move mainly on the surface of a conductor I feel the litz or enamelled solid core types superior by design.
But i have also discarded cables too early, before a correct break-in that in some case can take weeks.
Thanks again.
Kind regards,
bg
Looks like a very cool device- bg.
Hi and yes i agree completely.
This suggests to me that at Wireworld they have a very sound approach to IC sound evaluation.
If the reference is an almost direct extremely high quality connection i can assume that their TOTL cable must do very very little to alter the signal.
A very interesting article appeared years ago on Stereophile in the link.
Good things hardly become obsolete.
Taken from the article: " Wireworld's David Salz is obsessed with creating a truly neutral-sounding cable "
I do not know why this comparator is not more popular. It looks to me a very handy tool indeed.
Thanks again.
Kind regards,
bg

I'm inquisitive about Wireworld, since I got their HDMI cable....it trounces every other HDMI cable I tested.
I like WW as well, but the company really "jacked" up the price on the newest generation of Platinum Series cables/cords?
The other series of products appear to priced more accordingly.
watch Audiogon for dealers/retailers that offer a used/demo cable or cord, then buy it!
I'm like Samac and use their mid-level interconnects (standard Eclipse 7 and Eclipse 6). I also like them and find them to be well balanced in terms of imaging, soundstaging, smoothness, and bass reproduction. Of course cable selection is system dependent, but I would assess them as a step above comparably priced Audioquest or Kimber products.
Last year I heard the wonderful WW Eclipse 7 power cord.
I use the WW silver starlight 5.2 HDMI in my own TV/DVD set-up and it is outstanding. Additionally, only the Platinum HDMI betters it.
You might want to check out Audioaficionado. Many there are using the top end WireWorld cables. I'm using the mid level WireWorld cables and really enjoy them. They have a very open, detailed, balanced and smooth sound. Build quality is outstanding and most levels are good to excellent values.
That would be the Platinum series and I would seek out the older generation products. I feel the current Platinum products are way over-priced.
