so copper to the woofer is still better than 2 runs of silver?
Did you go with the "jewelry" silver? is it pure? because jewelery usually uses sterling.Ebay has several listings for pure silver wire in various guages. what did it do for the mids and highs?

I made some speaker cables about 15 years ago. I used 16g solid silver with Teflon coating. Followed the suggestion by Pierre Spey to run four wires to each speaker under the floor separated by a couple of inches in parallel runs and used predrilled wood to act as a loom attached to the bottom of the floor joists. The length of the run is somewhere between 20 and 30 feet (can't remember exactly) I've always thought they sounded fine and have no desire to replace them.
A company called DMN used to make these several years ago. I'm not sure if they're still available. They sounded good with a tube amp, but I think they were a little too revealing and forward sounding to be used with a solid state amp.
I've never tried it, but I've heard from people who have and they like it very much. Followed the Tempo Electric recipe at the link below.

A few good threads here. Search using "silver foil".
Love Joesph Levy's site. The best on the internet as far as I can find.
Although, I'm not convinced Teflon jacketing is the best solution. Not sure what is, but, the oil and cotton/silk has my interest- for ex. Duelund silver foil wire.
The problem with DIY silver speaker cables is cost and the unknowing. For me, a big benefit of DIY is to build and experiment. If you don't like it, build something else. I don't want to spend gobs of money on silver wire and not like it.
